IAHIP CURRENT MINIMUM CRITERIA – JANUARY 2006
[A] PERSONAL PSYCHOTHERAPY
[i] 100 hours
minimum individual psychotherapy during the course
[ii] 60 hours

setting

formal, contracted group psychotherapy

SUPERVISION OF PSYCHOTHERAPY PRACTICE
[i] During training a
ratio of one hour of supervision to four hours of client work is
recommended.
[ii] During the period of
pre-accreditation, a minimum ratio of one hour of supervision to eight hours
of client work is recommended.
[iii] Where supervision is
in a group, the group shall not exceed four supervisees.
Each supervisee shall receive one hour of credit
for every two hours of group supervision.
[iv] Graduate
pre-accredited therapists should not be supervised by their training
supervisor. [Training finishes at graduation].
A period of three months shall be allowed following
graduation to allow the newly-graduated therapist to seek out a new
supervisor.
[v] Supervisor to have
considerable experience [at least five years] as a psychotherapist, is an
accredited member of IAHIP or has equivalent professional accreditation,
familiar with and sympathetic towards humanistic and integrative
psychotherapy.

As of from January
1st 2007 supervisors must be accredited supervisors.
